The Drop Engineering team is comprised of devoted racing professionals, who intuitively understand what drivers expect out of their automotive upgrades. THE DROP ENGINEERING RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

HOW DO WE DECIDE WHAT PRODUCTS TO DESIGN?
There are a number of elements that are factored in when the team at Drop Engineering develops new product ideas. We are always brainstorming as well as looking at customer feedback to make sure that all demands are met.

Once we have a new product idea, we look at the popularity of the vehicle that the product would be designed for, as well as the popularity of this type of modification to that vehicle. Doing so helps us estimate demand for the product and determine if the project is going to be worthwhile.

With each new product idea, we thoroughly research factory weaknesses and come up with ways to improve them. A number of things are taken into consideration when our team looks at the potential benefit of our product over an OEM replacement including performance and appearance of the modification as well as the warranty.

Before a project is even designed, we cover all of the bases and decide if it is what our customers want and need. Once it has been decided that a project is worthy of the Drop Engineering name, it heads to the design process.

WHAT IS OUR DESIGN PROCESS?
Each project that we take on at Drop Engineering has undergone a thorough design process to ensure that only the best products are made. The first step in a product's development is acquiring the OEM part and checking its fitment on the vehicle. We carefully measure the area around the part and determine how much space is available for an aftermarket version. Doing this lets us increase a product's size and capability, while still allowing clearance for the aftermarket version.

Using a ROMER portable coordinate measuring machine, the Drop Engineering team will then reverse engineer the OEM part into a computer-aided design (CAD), which is used as a reference for factory relations. While designing the new part and incorporating improvements over the OEM part, our goal is to be simple and effective. We evaluate the design to ensure that it is the most effective plan possible, without overcomplicating things.

Finally, using rapid prototyping 3D modeling machines, a sample is made for a test fit.

WHAT IS THE TESTING PHASE?
To test the fitment of each newly designed product, we find a test fit vehicle in stock condition and confirm that the modification is up to par. All Drop Engineering parts guarantee OEM fitment. Once we confirm fitment, the initial sample is checked for quality and tested for functionality and performance. If a product does not meet our high standards, it doesn't pass the test.

After testing, we will take note of any changes required and if necessary, revise our design and test fit again. The process is not complete until our team is 100% satisfied with the fitment, quality and performance of the product.

WHAT IS THE PRODUCTION PHASE?
After the testing phase is complete, Drop Engineering's digital files are sent to the manufacturer to use in creating jigs, tooling and mechanical components. This ensures 100% accuracy in the production of all of our products and guarantees that every part will meet the exact same standards.

Through each step of the production, our parts are checked for quality and accuracy. Once the production phase is completed, the product goes through one final rigorous inspection to guarantee that nothing has been overlooked. You can be confident that the product you purchase is a dependable, high-quality replacement.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT
After being inspected, our products are placed in original Drop Engineering packaging and sent to the distribution facility, where they are finally complete. Each new product is photographed from several angles so that you can see the quality and detail of the modification before you purchase it.

Along with the photos, each product is listed on the website with all of the relevant information and technical specifications you need, so you can decide if it's right for your vehicle. The end result is a quality aftermarket product everyone can trust, from extreme racers to daily drivers.
